Welcome Back to School!
Dear Students and Parents of Lone Jack Primary and Elementary School:
I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you! My name is Melissa Carver, and I will be your new principal! I am very excited about coming to Lone Jack! For the past five years, I have been a Reading Specialist, Summer School Principal, and First Grade Teacher in the Grain Valley. Before that, I was a First Grade, Fourth Grade, and Acting Principal in the Raytown School District. I have one child, Elizabeth, age 8, and she excited about meeting new friends in Lone Jack.
I cannot wait to get to know everyone at Lone Jack Primary and Elementary School. I know before long, I will recognize and know the names and faces of many students and parents.
I truly believe in taking the time to build relationships with students, families, and staff in Lone Jack. I invite everyone to stop by and visit me as I start my new position. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Lone Jack Primary & Elementary Principal
Primary School Hours (8:12 a.m. – 3:12 p.m.)
Arrival – School opens at 7:45 a.m. Students may wait at the office until 7:50 when they are dismissed to the gym or to eat breakfast in the cafeteria. At 8:05 a.m., students are dismissed to their classrooms. Students who are not in class by 8:12 are deemed tardy and must be checked in at the office by a parent/guardian.
Dismissal – Students who ride the school bus are dismissed through the cafeteria doors after all buses have arrived. Car riders are dismissed from the cafeteria after all buses have exited and must be signed out by a parent/guardian.
School Meals
Breakfast is served from 7:50-8:10. The cost is $1.40 and is charged to the student’s lunch account.
Lunch is served on the following schedule:
10:45-11:15 Kindergarten
11:30-12:00 1st Grade
The cost for lunch is $2.00 for students and is charged to the student’s lunch account. Lunch accounts are debited electronically and reminders are sent home when funds are depleted. Parents are welcome to join their child for lunch. Adult lunches are $2.75. Please notify the school office before 9:00 a.m. to order a school lunch, and please check in/out at the office during your stay. To be courteous to all students, please do not bring in outside food from restaurants.
