January 2026

Each January marks a fresh start, a time to reflect, refocus, and recommit to the work ahead. This year, that reflection carries special meaning for the Lone Jack C6 School District. The Class of 2026, we believe, will be the 100th graduating class from Lone Jack High School, a milestone that represents generations of students, educators, families, and community members who have shaped our district over the last century.

One hundred graduating classes tell a powerful story. They tell a story of tradition, resilience, growth, and Mule pride. They also remind us that while much has changed over the years, our purpose remains the same, we provide opportunities for every student to learn, grow, and prepare for a successful future.

LJC6 continues to ask an important question, “What can each of us do to help every student be successful this school year?” Academic achievement is essential, but success looks different for every learner. It may mean mastering new skills, building confidence, discovering a passion, finding belonging, or learning how to persevere through challenges.

Supporting students means meeting them where they are. It means providing strong instruction, meaningful feedback, and timely academic interventions. It also means ensuring students have access to activities, clubs, athletics, arts, leadership opportunities, and career pathways that help them discover who they are and who they want to become. When students feel seen, supported, and valued, they are more likely to engage, take risks, and grow.

Success is never the work of one person alone. It is built through partnerships, between teachers and students, families and schools, staff and community. Small actions matter, checking in with a student, encouraging participation, celebrating progress, offering extra support, or simply listening. Each interaction contributes to a culture where students believe in themselves and their potential.

As we move through this year, let us celebrate the 100th graduating class by continuing our investments in the present. Together, we can ensure that every student, Class of 2026 and beyond, has the support and opportunities that our kids deserve today.

That is how we honor our history. That is how we build our future.
